Beachcombing For Success

I've chosen to do the first scene of the Fish Tank opening sequence as one of my ideas i could use for my opening sequence because it immediately shows the main character and the poor living conditions that she's living in. This is effective because it immediately shows what the plot of the film is about which is a girl that is poor and she faces challenges which effect the outcome of her life. This would fit in well with my opening sequence as it portrays the type of teenagers that our main characater associates himself with which causes him to make the wrong choices in which leads to him changing his life forever.

This is the film company in which i will be producing my opening sequence for Film4 productions. We also had to create a fact file previously showing the history and some of the big films in which film 4 productions have used. Some of these films include: This is England and Four Lions.

On the opening scene for Kidulthood. They use fast paced scenes. Fast paced scenes would be ideal for my opening sequence as it can engage the audience immediately wuith what is happening in the film and to try and tell a story in a short amount of time.

I've chosen the This is England trailer as one of my examples i could use for my opening sequence because it uses non-diegetic sound for most parts of the trailer. This non-diegetic sound is background music. Background music would be suitable for my opening sequence because it would create suspense and it would engage the audience more. However, the type of background music would be similar from the This is England trailer as it is a british social realism which my opening sequence is based on.

At 0:16 of the four lions trailer. They show a extreme long shot of the entire setting which one of the scenes is filmed. I want to use this camera shot in my opening sequence so that i can show our location that we are using for our opening sequnece. This camera shot would be suitable for my opening sequence because it can show immediately the living conditions of the main character which could either be good or bad but for our opening sequence it is bad as t is ner a council estate in South London.

Above it is the trailer for Kes. This trailer gave me certain ideas on what we could do for my opening sequence as the plot is similar to what we are going to do fr my opening sequence which is based upon a boy who faces challenges to be a better kid and help out others. It also shows ome violent scenes within the trailer which is what we will use to show the drama side of our story. Kes is also a british social realism film which is another reason why this trailer would be good to get ideas for my opening sequence.
